| Below please find a list
of the Cheer Jamz teams for the 2009-2010 and the requirements
for each of the teams.
Tryouts are May 7th and 8th 6:00-9:00, May 9th 10-4.
Tryouts take about one hour per person. You may sign
up at the gym for a time slot.
At tryouts, you will be asked to do a tumbling pass,
standing tumbling, jumps and a cheer that you will learn
at tryouts.
To prepare for tryouts, Cheer Jamz will have an open
gym sessions open to interested candidates. All are
invited to come to the gym and receive hands on help
with stunting, tumbling, etc. needed for tryouts. These
Open Gym are May 5th, and 6th from 6pm to 8pm.
Staff will be available to parents to answer any questions
about the program during Open Gym. If you cannot attend
these dates, and would like to schedule tryouts for
a different time,or if you need additional information,

Open Team -- Level 6
Description: 18 years old and
graduate of high school
Practices: Sundays 6-9

Jumps - Toe Touch Pike, Front Hurdler
Stunting - Ability to base, backspot,
or fly the following
Extended liberty variations- heel stretch, scale,
scorpion

base or back 2 1/2 high pyramids
Baskets - Back tuck basket toss
Motion Technique must be strong
Performance - The ability to perform
well or "sell" the routine is important
at this level. At tryouts, cheerleaders must present
themselves in a confident, "crowd pleasing"

Description: 12- 18 year olds
Practices: Tuesday and Thursday 6-9

Twisting Layout
Jumps: Triple Toe Touch with excellent technique,
Pike, Front Hurdler
Stunting: Ability to base, backspot, or fly the
following:Transitional Stunts, Extended liberty
variations- heel stretch, scale, scorpion
Double Twist Down
360 to sponge
Prep level double
Baskets: Double Kick Full,
Motion Technique must be strong- The ability
to perform well or "sell" the routine
is important at this level. At tryouts, cheerleaders

Senior
Open Level 4.2
Description: Ages 12-18
Practices: Mondays, Wednesdays
6:00-9:00
**This is a new division
in the USASF rules. These cheerleaders will be
performing level 4 stunts (kick toss baskets,
liberty variation twists down, etc. ) with level
2 tumbling (ex. backhandspring). This is a great
opportunity for those senior level cheerleaders
that have not perfected their tumbling, but have
excellent technique in stunting

Requirements:
There is no minimum requirements for this team
accept the child's ability to listen to instruction
as well as the drive to become a JAMZ cheerleader.
Youth team will receive tumbling instruction once
a week, as well as 2 hours of cheer instructions. |
** Cheer Jamz Pixies is a entry level cheer team for
cheerleaders 3-5 year olds. They practice on Friday
nights from 6:00-7:00. They are an exhibition team only
and will exhibition at local competitions throught the
year.
Although there are requirements
for all teams, exceptions may be made to insure that
teams are successful with stunting
A crucial skill of all star cheerleading
is tumbling. If you do not have tumbling skills , but
are willing to work on them, Cheer Jamz has the coaches,
equipment and classes to help you obtain the tumbling
skills you need in order to be a competitive all star
cheerleader. Due to the number of teams and levels we
provide at Cheer Jamz, everyone who tries out for Cheer
Jamz will be placed on a team with other cheerleaders
with the same skills they have to provide a comfortable
learning experience for all.
